There's no doubt that times exist when belt sanders are worth their weight in gold in bodyshops, such as when flatting back filler along sill top seams or wing edges. But, realistically, they're normally too pricey to justify buying for the few times they'll be used.
Fortunately AB Tools have the answer with this nifty belt sander attachment for 4-41.2in angle grinders. Simply screw a plastic thumbwheel over your grinder's threaded drive, attach the sander in place of the grinder's normal guard, and you're ready for action.
The product comes with two drivewheels, for M12 and M14 threads, and AB Tools can supply replacement belts in various grades. They also point out the attachment uses the same belts as most power belt sanders, but these are often different to those found on pneumatic tools.
