Cars have left the factory fitted with fuel injection, as standard, for many years now, so anything used to work on carburettors has firmly passed into 'specialist tool' territory. In other words the products are hard to find and normally pretty expensive. Well, that's not quite true with ITC's updated version of Germany's classic Type SK Synchrometer carburettor balancing aid. Although the once steel housing is now plastic, this helps bring the tool down to a very reasonable £29.95 plus £5.95 p&p. All other features remain unchanged though. The scale reads 0-30Kg per hour of airflow, and the rubber cone fits 40-55mm diameter carburettor openings. Other cones are available for more unusual carbs. Excellent instructions for balancing multi carb configurations and secondary throttle adjustments on progressive carbs are also included.
